Matt graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992 and has been working in the Illawarra since 1997. His early career was spent in mixed practice, working with cattle, horses as well as the usual menagerie of small animals. More recently Matt has developed a keen interest in small animal surgery.
In 2008 he studied for and passed the exams for membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal Surgery Chapter). Matt has found that this has been of great benefit in consolidating and extending his knowledge and interest in small animal surgery.
He also enjoys delving into radiology and ultrasound. Saying “both are great tools for giving us a window into the inner workings of our patients.”
“I am thoroughly enjoying working with a friendly team, in a collegiate atmosphere with a loyal and dedicated bunch of owners and their pets.”
Matt joined the team at Austinmer and Helensburgh in October 2010. He says “I am thoroughly enjoying working with a friendly team, in a collegiate atmosphere with a loyal and dedicated bunch of owners and their pets.”
When not working, Matt is kept busy with 3 young children - Rose, Dacey and Hadin, a Labrador – Sally who is now 15 years old, Pepper the 2 year old Cavoodle, and 1 gold fish!
He also likes to sneak out for a bike ride or maybe the odd surf when he can.
